Why Certify?

Industry certifications can give you a leg up in a career in Information Technology (IT). Employers recognize these certifications as skill validation in the area certified. The High School of Computers and Technology gives students the opportunity to acquire many IT certifications by taking the exams listed below during their program of study. Other exams are also available through Microsoft.

IC³ Digital Literacy Certification:

 

This is a starter certification that is necessary for any career you pursue. IC³ is the ideal starting point for anyone interested in learning computer and Internet basics. The program gives individuals sufficient Internet and computing literacy skills to enter current job markets or begin higher education programs.

CompTIA A+ Certification:

 

This certification is much more than computer repair. It covers a wide range of information support and services. Acquiring the certification determines troubleshooting and problem solving in a variety of platforms that are used in today’s information technology industry. The certification determines that you have the technical skill and know-how that supports the ability to connect users to data they need to do their jobs regardless of the devices being used. 

 

CompTIA Network+ Certification:

This certification focuses on computer network infrastructure, troubleshooting, configuring and managing networks.
